Thank you for coming to the BE TAI CHI website.
Taiji Quan (T'ai Chi Ch'uan) is an ancient Chinese martial art with many benefits and joys. One can improve focus, balance, strength, stamina, and general well being. But most important, one can begin to sense oneself through practice. Often thought of as a moving meditation, Taiji awakens awareness of energies within and beyond our body. Our classes embody the physical, spiritual and martial aspects of this art form. Students begin by learning a circular, elegant and slow series of postures that comprise all aspects of this healing art form. Each class builds on the prior lesson building a sequence of new and repeated postures.
Qigong: Movement, Meditation & Meaning Drawing from traditional Chinese Forms our Qigong classes include gentle, simple and guided meditations and movements (that can also be done while seated) for balance, healing, strength, detoxification, balance, calm mind and enlivened spirit. Classes comprise all elements of this millennia-old practice: martial, psycho-spiritual and physical. Postures and meditations are created from many modes of study including Taoism, Kabbalah, Moga Dao, and Taiji. In this practice we access personal, cultural, and ancestral mythologies or stories along with the felt experience of the body’s materiality through attuned forms to draw the body, spirit and soul toward one another.
